Women collage 1

I'm trying to draw more women.  I find men easier to draw because the faces are more forgiving and look fine with a lot of lines all over the place.  Women's faces require subtlety, flowing curves and clean lines.

Rabbit man collage

I know these are pretty strange... I just let my imagination run away with the pen really and this is what come out.

Back again... with collages.

I'm a terrible person and haven't been updating my blog!  I am however, working to rectify this.

I kinda gave up on doing the colour work due to computer problems, maybe I'll take another stab at it in the future.

My next series of posts will be collages of the sketches I've done over the last couple months.  I tend to jam a lot onto a single page and let them run into each other.  I'll try to orient the sketches in the same direction here on the blog, but in my sketchbook they're actually all over the place.

I hope you like 'em!

Colours!

That's right, I'll be choosing a few of my sketches to colour in this week and I've started at the beginning with the Chubby Monk.  This colouration was done in Photoshop, I don't feel like it's totally done but I also don't want to get too bogged down in a single piece.  Maybe I'll come back to the monk at a later time.

If you have some thoughts on which of my posted sketches I should colour, please let me know in the comments!

Cyclops

Cyclops from Marvel's comic "The X-men".  I've never read any X-men comics but I'm pretty sure this is accurate...

Flamingo

Drawing from reference and trying a minimalist approach to the shading and line work.

Posting everyday...yeah

I've stumbled on my promise to update everyday, this past week has been sparse... I know.  But I've got new stuff coming up, and I think a more reasonable approach of 5 drawings a week which gives me time to draw stuff I think is worth posting.

Monarch Butterfly

I made this butterfly out of some orange file folders and an old daily planner.  I used an exacto knife, glue, white-out and a couple Popsicle sticks to put it all together.

Croc Type Man

I wanted to do my version of Killer Croc.  I always liked the more crocodilian looking versions of the character so that's what I went for here.

Human Centaur

I really just intended to draw basic figures with round heads in various poses and it turned into this.
